The Washington 1019-REC Recirculating Lubrication System was
designed to provide a continuous pressurized flow of clean oil through the rotating
assembly. This, continuously cleanses the oil that is lubricating the bearings and
seals in the rotating assembly. Although this is
a recirculating lubrication system, the oil reservoir level must be checked daily.
The seals in the rotating assembly are designed to weep a minimum amount of oil to cleanse
themselves. Fluid loss may also occur by a leak at any point in the lubrication
system.
The 1019-REC is fitted with an air-operated diaphragm
pump and properly adjusted, will recirculate oil at a rate of 25 gallons per hour while
maintaining 35 p.s.i. of oil pressure in the cavity of your rotating assembly.
The 1019-REC Recirculating Lubrication System can be
fitted with a metal cooling jacket and fan assembly, which continuously cools the oil when
the 1019-REC is operated in a geothermal or high-pressure drilling application.
Heated oil from the bearing assembly is circulated to the lubricator, cooled, and returned
to the rotating assembly. The oil recirculated with the lubrication system can also
be returned through a heat exchanger or chiller if higher operation temperatures are
expected.
