Washington Rotating Gives Back To US Troops

The employees at Washington Rotating Control Heads, a Washington County manufacturer of drilling products, wanted to give back this Christmas season. As the company approaches its 40th anniversary in 2016, a greater focus on making a difference in the local and global community is on everyone’s mind. After discussing a number of opportunities, the 32-member staff decided to collect toiletries, food, bedding, and games to send to US Troops.

Washington Rotating owner, Joyce Mayernik, said “The company was founded 38 years ago by my father, who was a WWII veteran. With his recent passing, it seems fitting to remember him this Christmas season by supporting US troops who sacrifice so much for our country.”

Washington Rotating currently has a number of veterans on staff and encourages active and retired military to apply for job openings at the company. Sean Boggio, a PA Army National Guardsman and draftsman for Washington Rotating explains, “I have many friends and family members who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces, including myself. I am proud to say that I work for a company that takes the time to support and show appreciation to the men and women serving our nation.”

Flexibility is key for Washington Rotating Control Heads Inc.

Article by Chris Peterson

When thinking about drilling through thousands of feet of earth and rock, the word “flexible” isn’t normally the first that comes to mind. However, flexibility is one of the most important words for Pennsylvania-based Washington Rotating Control Heads Inc. as the company serves the oil and gas industry with a leading line of rotating control devices, diverters and related products for drilling rigs.

As Business Development and Technical Director Rick McKinney explains, the flexibility Washington Rotating provides for its customers has been one of the primary elements of its success over the years. As oil and gas exploration firms locate and develop new resources with variable conditions, they require equipment that can meet their specific needs, rather than applying a one- size-fits-all approach. McKinney says Washington Rotating is a leader in providing equipment that can serve virtually any need an operator might have.

Along with “flexibility,” McKinney says the other most important word for Washington Rotating is “family.” The company was founded by Bob Johnston in 1976, and his children have taken over the leadership position since then. By remaining a small, close-knit, family run organization, Washington Rotating has the strength and cooperation it needs to maintain its position in the marketplace for many years to come.

Arch Rental, LLC Prevents Downtime for Marcellus and Utica Shale Fields with Rotating Control Heads and OEM Support Equipment Rental

WASHINGTON, Pa.—Lean-running drillers who prefer renting rather than purchasing wellhead components have a capable new equipment source in the Marcellus Region and Utica Shale Fields: Arch Rental, LLC.

A subsidiary of Washington Rotating Control Heads, Inc., Arch Rental opened for business this spring, responding to “massive demand for rental equipment from operators in the Marcellus and Utica plays,” says operation manager, Rick McKinney.

“Here in the Northeast the trend is toward rentals, driven by the big companies coming in from out West — the Exxons and BPs and Shells,” he notes. “So we’re stepping up to the plate with a whole range of rental and service options, backed up by the expertise and resources of an established OEM.”
