CUSTOMIZABLE ROTATING CONTROL DEVICES

With a Rotating Control Device (RCD), the stripper rubber or sealing element rotates with the drill string, while a robust steel housing and bearing assembly provide control of the flow by diverting the drill cuttings, fluids, and gases away from the rig. The RCD is typically mounted on top of the annular BOP beneath the rig floor. Cuttings and fluids are channeled into the mud return system through the flow line. The critical components of all RCDs are the means by which a seal is accomplished between the drill string and the bearing assembly.

RCD technology has become a key element in many drilling programs. Advantages include the lower drilling costs, faster penetration rates, and reduced mud volume and/or density requirements associated with underbalanced drilling (UBD). Washington Rotating is committed to improving worker safety and protecting the environment. The use of an RCD prevents the unexpected release of gas during a kick, which affords an enhanced level of safety for the rig crew. The RCD is also an integral part of a closed loop drilling system, which eliminates the need for potentially hazardous open pits.

CUSTOM BUILT NON-ROTATING WELL DIVERTERS

YOUR SOLUTION FOR TOP DRIVE OR WORK OVER RIGS

Non-rotating diverters are ideal for use on Top Drive Rigs or Work Over Rigs where drill pipe is to be rotated inside a stationary stripper rubber, or for drilling programs that don’t warrant an RCD drilling package. Non-rotating diverters are useful for multiple drilling applications, including oil & gas, water, monitor and geothermal wells. Non-rotating diverters provide a cost-effective solution for safely diverting all drill cuttings away from the rig and personnel and into a container for disposal, keeping clean up costs to a minimum.

WATER WELL DRILLING - PNEUMATIC DIVERTERS

DIVERTECH – THE FIRST PNEUMATIC DIVERTER SYSTEM IN THE INDUSTRY

The Divertech Pneumatic Diverter System is a compact, easy to install accessory for diverting drill cuttings away from the drill rig. The patented “Flow-Thru Boot” expands from the Divertech spool to form a seal against the ground or rock face, allowing cuttings to be diverted through a Flow Line — with or without casing in the borehole. A compact vacuum system (included), is utilized to retract the pneumatic boot for access to the borehole, and when borehole construction is completed, the vacuum system is also utilized to place the unit in “travel position.”

The Divertech Pneumatic Diverter System is equipped with a multi-stage flow through rubber boot system, which is inflated with air. Inflated to only 10 psi, the boot system on the standard unit exerts over 1,000 pounds of pressure against the ground. Once inflated, the boot requires no further air flow to remain pressurized. Since the boot is flexible, adequate sealing is obtained even on unlevel terrain. A small, easily mounted vacuum system is used to retract the boot when the job is finished.
